About Me

My Story

Zach’s passion for aviation began at the age of 11 during a family road trip that included a visit to the Boeing factory. Seeing aircraft being designed and assembled firsthand left a lasting impression on him and sparked a fascination with flight that would shape the direction of his future. What began as a childhood interest quickly developed into a deep appreciation for aviation, aerospace technology, and the discipline required to pursue a career in the skies.

Since that moment, Zach’s passion for aviation has only continued to grow stronger with each passing year. His journey started through flight simulation at a young age, where he spent countless hours learning aviation procedures, navigation, communication, and aircraft systems. Those early experiences helped build a strong technical foundation and fueled his desire to move beyond simulation and into real-world aviation.

As his interest expanded, Zach joined the Civil Air Patrol, where he further developed leadership skills, discipline, teamwork, and a broader understanding of aviation operations. His commitment to aviation education extended beyond his own learning, as he took the initiative to create flight curriculums for his middle school aviation class. Through those efforts, he was able to share his passion with fellow students and inspire others to explore aviation for themselves. His dedication, work ethic, and enthusiasm eventually earned him recognition as Aviation Student of the Year.

Outside of formal training, Zach’s love for aviation reaches far beyond the cockpit. As a dedicated plane spotter and collector of model aircraft, he enjoys studying the history, engineering, and design of aircraft from around the world. Aviation is not simply a hobby for Zach, it is a lifelong passion and a central part of who he is.

Zach is not only passionate about aviation, he is deeply committed to mastering it. Through extensive instructor-led flight training, countless hours of ground school education, and hundreds of additional hours refining his skills through advanced flight simulation, he has continued building a strong foundation for a professional aviation career. His hard work and determination led to one of aviation’s most significant milestones when he earned his Private Pilot Certificate at just 17 years old.

In addition to his aviation accomplishments, Zach is FAA drone certified and also holds an amateur radio license, reflecting his strong interest in aerospace technology, communication systems, and technical learning. Beyond aviation, he dedicates time to giving back to the community through charity work with an Idaho-based Ghostbusters organization that helps raise money and support for children and families in need.

While balancing the demanding schedule of flight training, extracurricular activities, and academics, Zach maintained an impressive 3.85 GPA throughout his high school career. His ability to remain focused and disciplined both in and out of the classroom demonstrates the same commitment and professionalism he brings to aviation. In May of 2026, he graduated with Honors, further highlighting his dedication to academic excellence and personal growth.

With determination, discipline, and an unwavering love for flying, Zach is well on his way toward building a successful future in aviation. Following high school, he is continuing his journey by attending an aviation program at a local community college while simultaneously working toward additional flight ratings and certifications.

Looking ahead, Zach plans to earn his Associate’s Degree in Fixed Wing Aviation before pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology. He then intends to continue his professional development through a full-time Part 141 flight training program, with the ultimate goal of becoming a commercial pilot and building a lifelong career in aviation.
